Today i want to ask you if you are using Snippets, if so, what kind of snippets you are using?
I mostly use snippets for CSS
Because for html i use zen-coding and it's already fast to wrote a valid html.
Learn more about Zen-Coding in this awesome Nettuts+ tutorial posted by Jeffrey Way >>
But sure i got some HTML snippets too, like "basic html structure" from html5boilerplate.
br tags: i use 2 spaces + TAB after it convert 2spaces in to "" tag without closing slash.
For CSS i use base css structure from html5boilerplate snippet, use box-shadows, text-shadows, border radius, gradients... i normally got 2 commands, one for output code, and second one for help (with -h prefix like in terminal):
"bs + TAB" output:
-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 5px rgba(0,0,0,.3);
-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 5px rgba(0,0,0,.3);
box-shadow: 0px 0px 5px rgba(0,0,0,.3);
"bs-h + TAB" output this:
* box-shadow: inset, h-shadow, v-shadow, blur, spread-distance, color;
* Inset: Optional. Use "inset" if you want to make inner shadow. Example: box-shadow: inset -5px -5px 5px 5px rgba(0,0,0,1);
Required. The position of the horizontal shadow. Negative values are allowed
Required. The position of the vertical shadow. Negative values are allowed
Optional. The blur distance
Optional. Spread distance
Optional. The color of the shadow. Look at CSS Color Values for a complete list of possible color values
Saf3-4, iOS 4.0.2 - 4.2, Android 2.3+
FF3.5 - 3.6
Opera 10.5+, IE9, FF4+, Chrome 6+, iOS 5
Now i'm experimenting in typing "w + TAB" for "width: ", "h + TAB" for "height: ", p for padding, m for margin and so on... but need more testing and i'm looking forward to build an excellent snippet collection to use it everyday.
Maybe i'll make one for sass/compass too because now i lose more time coding with compass then just code classic way using css.
As soon as i'll finish with my collection i'll share with you via nettuts+ if it will be useful and helpful for you ;)
P.S a few day ago I join Forrst, great place. You can see my first upload work here (it's private, for Forrst users only at that moment).
Still looking forward to join Dribbble some day :'(
