I'm not a CSS master, but I'd love to hear some thought on this. The author says:
"A new trend in website design is the use of media queries, this is because of the amount of devices that can now access the internet all the websites need to usable on any device type. This is where responsive design comes into action, this is the process of discovering what device the visitor is using so we can change the design to adapt to the visitor."
We all know that isn't 100% accurate. Plus, there are lots of great CSS frameworks out there that get you where you're going with out having to write masterful media queries. Just the same, I'd argue that media queries are uber important and demand the respect they have earned.
