Posting Guidelines

It’s important to follow these post guidelines when posting new things on Forrst; they exist for the benefit of the community as a whole.

• Please only post things that are directly development- and/or design-related.

  Good: "I'm trying to get in to mobile development, what platform would you recommend?"

  Bad: "What phone should I buy?"

• Please give your posts descriptive titles, and add context by typing a description as well.

  Good: "How do I use map-reduce with MongoDB?"

  Bad: "Help!"

• Please only use the Question post type to ask actual development- and design- related questions.

  Good: "Are there best practices when using HTML5 audio and video tags?"

  Bad: "What are you doing today?" or "I think XYZ is good"

• Forrst is not the right place to post photography, unless it depicts something you designed "in the wild". Here's an example of a post that would be permitted: http://forrst.com/posts/Shhhhhh-imx. Also, Forrst isn't the right place to post iPhone home screens, desktops, or other non-development or design-related things.
• Always give credit where credit is due when posting work that is not your own. As well, always make sure that you have permission to post work, especially if it is for a client or company for whom you work. If your gut tells you you shouldn't post something, it's best to listen to it.
• Posts asking for or offering invites to other websites are not permitted. Twitter is a better place for that.
• Forrst is a great place to find collaborators, but posts offering paid jobs are not allowed.
• Pornography, other adult content, racist, or generally questionable content that would fall under the "NSFW" label is not permitted on Forrst.
• It is vital to the health of the community to flag posts that don't follow these guidelines. Thank you.
